Strenuous conditions define the normal operating environments of snowmobiles and boats. Without the right lubrication, two-stroke snowmobile engines and outboard motors run hotter, accumulate deposits and suffer a reduction in performance. AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Stroke Injector Oil offers the convenience of one formula for the tough conditions of all two-stroke recreational equipment. It is tested and proven to minimize wear and deposits that can damage internal components. AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Stroke Injector Oil provides quality and affordability for cost-conscious enthusiasts who want the benefits of synthetic two-stroke oil.
- Excellent for Evinrude® E-TEC" factory-lean setting (replaces Evinrude XD100" 2-Cycle Oil) - Helps prevent deposits - Protects against wear - Low smoke - Protects against rust - Low aquatic toxicity - Superior performance as an injection oil or at 50:1 pre-mix
Outstanding Wear Protection The elevated heat and friction of modern two-stroke marine motors can exceed the film strength of inferior oils, increasing the likelihood of scuffing and wear. HP Marine's exclusive synthetic formulation provides increased lubricity for reduced wear during normal and lean-mix operation (see field study results). In 534 hours of field testing, HP Marine completely prevented piston skirt and cylinder bore scuffing, demonstrating its superior lubricity and ability to reduce friction between moving parts. It maintains a strong lubricating film even in lean-mix, severe-service conditions, helping marine engines achieve maximum life.
Excellent Deposit Control HP Marine is formulated with MAXDOSE", a system of advanced additives for "super-clean" operation. It helps prevent deposits that lead to poor performance. In field testing, HP Marine inhibited ring deposits that can cause ring sticking and ring jacking (carbon buildup behind the ring, forcing it outward), a phenomenon that occurs in modern DFI outboard motors. It also virtually eliminated exhaust port deposits for reliable, efficient operation.
APPLICATIONS Use in two-stroke marine applications that specify TC-W3, including those made by: Johnson/Evinrude*, FICHT*, E-TEC*, Mercury* EFI & Optimax*, Yamaha*, Nissan*, Tohatsu* TLDI*, Suzuki*, Mariner*, Force*. Use as injection oil or 50:1 premix (2.6 oz. per U.S. gallon of gas).
Compatible with mineral and synthetic TC-W3-type two-stroke oils; however, mixing two-stroke oils should be minimized.
Excellent for Evinrude® E-TEC" factory-lean setting (replaces Evinrude XD100" 2-Cycle Oil). Helps prevent deposits, protects against wear, has low smoke, protects against rust and has low aquatic toxicity. Superior performance as an injection oil or at 50:1 pre-mix.
High-quality motor oil is critical for maximum performance in modern two-stroke marine motors. Direct fuel injection (DFI) improves combustion efficiency, delivering the extra power enthusiasts want, while leaner gas-to-oil ratios provide the reduced exhaust emissions the government mandates. The leaner ratio leaves less oil to lubricate and protect these hotter, more powerful motors, which invites deposits and wear that threaten engine performance and life. HP Marine is proven to excel in these harsh conditions. It controls performance-robbing friction, heat and wear, yet produces low smoke and has low aquatic toxicity properties. It's an oil as advanced as the engines it protects.
Anti-Scuff / Anti-Wear Snowmobile engines have evolved to run on leaner gas-to-oil mixtures, increasing harmful friction and heat. INTERCEPTOR's synthetic formulation incorporates high-molecular-weight components with high flash points that resist burn-off. As a result, a greater amount of oil survives the combustion process to provide lubrication and protection. Its excellent lubricity and film strength inhibit metal-to-metal contact. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR's anti-scuff/anti-wear formula completely prevented piston skirt scuffing.
Excellent Deposit Control INTERCEPTOR naturally resists harmful deposits due to its thermally stable synthetic formulation. It is additionally fortified with high-temperature detergency and dispersancy additives that provide excellent engine cleanliness. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR completely prevented piston ring and exhaust power valve sticking for maximum performance. It also limited piston, combustion chamber and spark plug deposits for reliable operation.
INTERCEPTOR Field Trial Results During the winter of 2015/16, INTERCEPTOR was tested in the three top makes of snowmobiles. Each sled was added to the rental fleet of a different outfitter in the Eagle River, Wis., area and placed into service. Following the season, the sleds were disassembled and examined for wear. Results reveal INTERCEPTOR prevented piston ring sticking and piston scuffing, (see below) while the exhaust power valves contained no abnormal deposit buildup and did not stick.
- Excellent for all two-stroke snowmobiles - Prevents piston ring & exhaust power valve sticking - Exceptional cold-temperature fluidity (-69°F pour point) - Outstanding performance in DFI engines - Protects against wear - Low smoke and odor - Helps prevent plug fouling
APPLICATIONS AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is engineered for use in direct-fuel-injected (DFI), electronic-fuel-injected (EFI) and carbureted two-stroke snowmobiles, including those made by Polaris*, BRP*/Ski-Doo* (Rotax* E-TEC* engines), Arctic Cat* (C-TEC 2) and Yamaha*.
Use where API TC oils are specified. Use as injection oil or 50:1 premix (2.6 oz. per U.S. gallon of gas). INTERCEPTOR is compatible with most conventional and synthetic two-stroke oils; however, for best performance, mixing oils should be minimized.
High-performance 2-stroke oil with an emphasis on exhaust power valves. Contains high levels of detergent additives to prevent valve sticking. Replaces manufacturer-branded oils. Injector use or 50:1 premix. Excellent in snowmobiles, motorcycles, PWC, ATVs and jet boats.
Two-stroke snowmobiles are meant to be ridden hard. Repeatedly pushing a machine to wide-open throttle during all-day, aggressive riding, however, takes its toll on the engine. INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is specifically designed for maximum performance in all makes of two-stroke snowmobiles, including Ski-Doo*, Polaris* and Arctic Cat*, helping enthusiasts spend more time riding and less performing maintenance. It is compatible with nearly all other two-stroke oils, while its low-smoke, low-odor properties help ensure riders won't be "smoked out." INTERCEPTOR is engineered to be pushed as hard as the sleds it protects.
Racers can't win what they dont finish. Thats why AMSOIL formulators built DOMINATOR® 2-Stroke Racing Oil. This complex blend of oils and additives directly addresses the heat, pressure and friction of race-engineered engines. These engines operate on the edge, yet engine reliability is critical. DOMINATOR does an outstanding job protecting high-performance engines. It adds durability that professional racing teams depend on and delivers confidence so engines can be pushed to the limit.
Race-Proven Benefits - Excellent film strength for high-heat, high-rpm motors - Anti-friction formula for maximum power - Burns clean; helps prevent ring sticking and plug fouling - Protects coated and non-coated racing pistons
Excellent Lubricity and Film Strength High-performance and race-designed two-stroke engines operate under severe conditions. They are modified for higher compression ratios, higher rpm and leaner combustion, all of which increase heat and pressure. High heat can quickly burn off light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances and increasing the likelihood of piston scuffing and seizure. High pressure can exceed the film strength of low-viscosity oils, which promotes crankshaft bearing wear and pitting.
DOMINATOR is purpose-built for outstanding film strength and lubricity. It is engineered with carefully selected, higher-viscosity synthetic base oils to withstand the high heat and pressure common to high-performance and racing applications. DOMINATORs anti-friction chemistry is race-proven to provide an extra measure of protection against piston scuffing and bearing wear.
Outstanding Cleanliness The oil and fuel burned in the two-stroke combustion process leave destructive deposits on the pistons, rings and in the combustion chamber. Excessive deposits can lead to catastrophic engine problems, including ring sticking, exhaust port blocking and pre-ignition.
AMSOIL DOMINATOR is formulated with clean-burning synthetic base oils and powerful high-temperature detergent additives for exceptional deposit control. It helps prevent the power-robbing carbon deposits that cause ring sticking, exhaust port blocking and pre-ignition. AMSOIL DOMINATOR is optimized for severe service.
RACING IS RESEARCH During the opening weekend of the 2015/16 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season, professional rider Lincoln Lemieux's Ski-Doo* RS600 suffered a broken hose clamp, allowing the coolant to pump from the system. The intense heat that resulted melted the exhaust power valve covers, O-rings and engine gaskets. DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Racing Oil, however, delivered exceptional protection despite the severe conditions. The rings and pistons were still free and the crankshaft turned freely. Scheuring Speed Sports is able to reuse the engine after repairing the melted parts, providing concrete testimony of DOMINATOR's superior performance.
APPLICATIONS Use in high-performance stock or modified two-stroke engines, including air- or liquid-cooled snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles (moto X), ATVs, go-carts and outboard motors**. Good for use with coated or non-coated pistons, high-octane racing fuels and exhaust power valves. Compatible with most other two-stroke oils; however, mixing oils should be minimized.
Use in oil-injected and pre-mix applications that require API TC oils. In pre-mix applications, DOMINATOR delivers outstanding protection at 50:1 (2.6 oz. oil per U.S. gallon of gas), although many racers modify the mix ratio to suit their setup. Not suitable for use with alcohol or nitro-methane fuels.
** Not suitable for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3-type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short-term use where motors are periodically inspected.

Anyone who’s owned or operated a two-stroke string trimmer, chainsaw, blower or other piece of equipment has been there before. You repeatedly pull the starter cord and adjust the choke, but it’s still hard to start. And, when it finally fires up, it runs rough and threatens to quit. Hard-starting, rough-running equipment is not only frustrating, it lacks the power to work as efficiently as you want.
What causes hard-starting equipment?
Heavy carbon deposits in the exhaust port and on the spark arrestor screen are often to blame. Here’s how it works.
Internal combustion engines require a steady supply of air to run properly and produce maximum power. The engine draws air through the intake and burns it, along with the fuel/oil, in the combustion chamber. The moving piston expels the exhaust gases through the exhaust port and spark arrestor screen on the muffler. In a properly running engine, this happens thousands of times a minute and goes unnoticed by the operator.
Two-stroke oils with poor detergency properties, however, can allow carbon deposits to build-up in the exhaust port and on the spark arrestor screen. Carbon chokes off airflow, which causes the engine to slowly lose power and run poorly. Soon, it becomes hard to start or fails to run altogether unless you clean the exhaust port (which requires removing the muffler) and spark arrestor screen. Most operators don’t want to waste time cleaning deposits, especially busy professional landscapers who need to complete jobs quickly and efficiently.
